In ancient
India, there was smart adviser to a certain king. One day, on his way to the
palace, he saw a dead mouse. After staring several minutes at the dead mouse,
he whispered slowly “Even from this small
dead mouse can be rich man, if a person try hard to sale it in the market.”
A man heard
it. Following the advice of king’s an adviser, he grabbed the dead mouse by
the tail and took to the market place. A shopkeeper saw it. He said to a man “Can
you give me that mouse for my cat. I will give you two copper coins for that
mouse.” A man gave the dead mouse to a shop keeper and took the coins on his
hand.
With those
two copper coins, he bought sweet cakes and water pots. He took all those sweet
cakes and water pots by the road. At the same time, there were people coming
from far of land to the certain city. There were flowers on their hand but no
money. They were feeling very hungry and thirsty too. They needed money to buy
sweet cakes and water but were lack of money. They exchanged their flowers with
sweet cakes and water pots. He took all the flowers and went to the market place
and sold all those flowers with little high prices and bought more sweet cakes
and started selling by the road.
At the same
time, there were heavy storm and rain. The trees were been broken in the king’s
garden. When the ministers were cleaning the garden reluctantly, a man asked a
job to clean all those trees and branches. Lazy ministers agreed.
He called
some kids to help him. He just gave them some sweet cakes and cleaned all the
branches quickly.
When the
potter saw woods cleaning by the certain man. He asked the woods with some
handsome price. A man sold it.
With these
profits, he opened a shop and started selling flowers and woods with good
prices.
One day,
local grass mowers came to his shop. They were hungry and tired. He gave sweet
cakes and water them freely. Surprised to his generosity, they asked what, they
can do for it. He said, he want nothing for now. If time comes, he will inform
them.
A week
later, he head horse dealers were coming to the city to sale the five hundred
horses. He asked all those grass mowers bundle of grass and sold all those
grasses to the horse men.
Time went
on, one day, he heard that some ships coming from foreign countries. He thought
it as a good opportunity for the new business plans.
He went to
his jeweler friend and bought gold and rubies with low price. He knew that
those merchants were coming from the country where golds were expensive and
rubies could be hardly found. He gave the gold ring and rubies to the captain
of the ships. To earn this commission, the captain agreed
to send all his passengers to him as a broker. He would then lead them to the
best shops in the city. In turn, the man got the merchants to pay him a
commission for sending customers to them.
Acting
as a middle man in this way, after several ships came into port, the man became
very rich. Being pleased with his success, he also remembered that it had all
started with the words of the king's wise adviser. So he decided to give him a
gift of 100,000 gold coins. This was half his entire wealth. After making the
proper arrangements, he met with the king's adviser and gave him the gift,
along with his humble thanks.
Adviser was
amazed and asked “How did you earn so much wealth to afford gift?” The man told him it had all started with the adviser's own words
not so long ago. They had led him to a dead mouse, a hungry cat, sweet cakes,
bunches of flowers, storm damaged tree branches, children in the park, the
king's potter, a refreshment shop, grass for 500 horses, a golden ruby ring,
good business contacts, and finally a large fortune.
Hearing all this, the royal adviser thought to himself,
"It would not be good to lose the talents of such an energetic man. I too
have much wealth, as well as my beloved only daughter. As this man is single,
he deserves to marry her. Then he can inherit my wealth in addition to his own,
and my daughter will be well cared for."
This all came to pass, and after the wise adviser died, the
one who had followed his advice became the richest man in the city. The king
appointed him to the adviser's position. Throughout his remaining life, he
generously gave his money for the happiness and wellbeing of many people.
